Back From The Windy Apple

Hey dudes! I'm back from New York City. It totally rocked, as I'm sure you can imagine. I have a bunch of photos and stories, but since I vacationed at the worst possible time and I'm moving this weekend I'm not sure when I can get them up here! Soon, though, I promise! Until then, enjoy the only trip photo I have uploaded at this point:

I just realized this is the debut of my vintage eyeglasses! They are cat eye, from the 50s. I love them so much! And I got really really nice lenses for them so I want to wear them all the time. Please forgive my gross sleepy face, though. I'm still getting 5 hours of sleep a night. Too much to do!

I wanted to be comfy so I wore this grey sack dress. Since it's so billowy and short it begs for colourful accessories, as you can tell by how often I wear this thing. Little black dress? Pfft. Little GREY dress. I like the way the red goes with the tights from We Love Colors, I was worried I'd look too superhero or something. But I think just the little touch of red is just the thing, and the tights make the dress look really mod.

I also really love my new ring from LuShae Jewelry. I've been wearing this every day since I got it. I was worried the stones might get damaged from all the work I do with my hands but this thing looks like it just came out of the box! This is my favourite kind of ring; unique with a bit of bling but still nice and flat. They have a bunch of other things I really liked, too, and even my brother liked this ring!

In other news, my apartment is coming along. We started painting last night (don't worry, I changed out of my cute outfit first!). Here's a crappy cell phone pic of my new bedroom colour:

I'm accenting with red, dark blue, grey, and white. What do you think?

I leave for New York City tomorrow morning! I have a pretty full schedule at this point but feel free to toss some recommendations my way! I'll try to pre-write a Friday Links post for tomorrow but otherwise I might not update until I get back. Then I pack up and move next weekend. I can't wait for it to be June, jeez, maybe then I can get some sleep!

For all I know, this might be my last "proper" outfit photo before I move (though I'm going to try and take some in New York City next weekend while I'm there. Oh yes, I'll be in New York City next weekend! I have limited time and I have an idea of my plans already, but if there's anything I Must. Not. Miss. then by all means let me know!)

But back to this outfit. I originally bought this skirt for the shop but since it fit me perfectly I decided to keep it. Because I have virtually NO patterns in my wardrobe. I'm really trying to wear more patterns and learn to pattern mix. See, this is what I did with the polka dots! How did I do?

Also, these shoes! These are 5" heels. I'm 5'7" in them! I'm finally an average height, haha. They are pretty comfy (a little hard to walk in) and I love the colour. Also the style is so forties. I have a burgeoning collection of 40s-esque sandals, the best.

Also, don't forget to Shop the Moving Sale through Sunday! Fund my move! Etc!

Shop Update: Early Summer

I'm starting to bring out the summer goods here at the ole shop, particularly with the strappy sandal pumps and this AMAZING wiggle dress. Seriously, it's one of my favourite finds ever. I have to try it on before it goes to a new home. I've got a couple of lovely silk things here, too, and I have a few more odds and ends I've photographed that I plan to list tomorrow. I'm trying to update like mad so most of my stock is up before I move.

Spring and Summer Wishlist

Since late Spring-early Summer is my favourite time of year I've been stock piling like mad all the dreamy wares I want to own. However, since I'm saving my pennies for my move I'm being a (relatively) good girl...doesn't mean I can't dream shop, though.
